BEGINNING BLUE PRINT READING SEMINAR

  This Beginning Blue Print Reading Course is a one-day seven hour course which provides an overview of the essential knowledge and skills to read basic blue prints.   Participants will learn what a blue print is; blueprint sizes; how to care for prints; lines; lettering dimensioning; systems of measurements; scale drawings; tolerencing; part views; sectional views; title block; drawing notes and changes; metric and English prints and metric to English dimensional conversion; prints denoting surface finish; holes; keyways gears and splines.

--Those who need a refresher in blue print reading to develop skills which enable them to step up to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) skills or are building CEU credits

Mr. Kaarlela has 43 years of experience in the Automotive Aerospace and Chemical Industries. He is an internationally recognized expert in Failure Analysis and Metalworking. He holds 22 active US patents, has contributed to seven books and published a vast amount of technical papers. He has been involved as an industrial consultant and an Adjunct Professor for industrial training at the college level for more than 26 years. He has taught the Metrology and Strength of Materials courses at Tarrant County College for over 24 years.  He has received two prestigious awards: “Distinguished Lifetime Educator” (1995) and “Instructor of Merit”  (1996) by ASM International.
